[Resenha] Let Love Be (Melissa Collins)

Quarto volume da série The Love

What would bring you happiness in a world that was suddenly empty? For Lucy Crane, the answer is simple: her daughter. When her husband is killed in a tragic accident, Lucy loses her desire to live, but only one thing keeps her going – her unborn daughter. Focusing on being a mother helps Lucy cope with her loss, but kids grow up and they leave home, eventually. Eighteen years after losing her first and only love, Lucy is faced with the opportunity to find the happiness for which she’s always longed. Her own fears become her worst enemies as she learns how to embrace love once again. Evan Donovan is also facing his own struggles. Forced to retire from the FDNY because of lung damage caused by 9/11, Evan moves to upstate New York where he hopes to find a little peace and quiet. Old habits die hard, and Evan’s hero complex and survivor’s guilt constantly remind him of how difficult it is to be vulnerable. But for the first time in his life, he’s tired of being alone. Drawing strength from one another, Lucy and Evan discover how beautiful it is to let love be a part of their lives.

Warning: I read a lot better than I write in English: so forgive me if something does not make sense in the text.

Firstly, I’d like to thank the author Melissa Collins and The Hype PR for the opportunity to participate in the Review Tour of this book, even though I have not read the other books in the series, so THANK YOU!

Secondly, some books touch us more than others, they mess with our emotional so that you get a good time thinking about the whole experience of reading and the feelings that were aroused, so the review that should have been published in last week was published today, let's just say it was a bit difficult to step into the role everything I felt during the book.

The book tells the story of Lucy Crane and Evan Donavan and their struggles with their demons, divided into three parts the book tells a bit about the past of the characters and how it changed his perspective on their lives, and about the present when finally their destinations meet, the chapters alternate between the two characters showing the vision of each to significant events in their lives.

Evan is a firefighter that passes with time dealing with losses related to their work, lack of time (and will) languishes with your personal life, his relationships do not last long and because of some events he comes to believe that does not deserve a family.

Luce lost her husband too soon, her virtually perfect life came crashing down and the only thing that made from proceeding was the birth of his daughter, so she joins the pieces and creating Melanie becomes your life goal. She had to learn to be a single mother, fortunately was able to enlist the help of friends.

Over time they both realize that they closed for love, but after 18 years, is it not too late?

The book touchingly shows how the characters deal with the losses they suffer so hard in life, and how with a little effort they can rebuild again and gain a fresh start, but I confess that towards the end of the book had to agree with the characters. Why Melissa? Why so much suffering for one person? I was afraid of what might happen in the end, the suffering of the characters and apprehension for what might or might not happen, raised my involvement with the book to a level after finishing the reading bill the time to write what I thought of everything.

Melissa Collins wrote a book that will make the reader sigh, laugh and cry with the characters, and you still root for more, more books, more brilliantly created characters, simply more ....

About the Author
Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
